Ein kleines, liebenswertes Mädchen, das wegen seiner roten Mütze von allen nur Rotkäppchen genannt wird, lebt mit seinen Eltern am Rande eines großen Waldes. Die Großmutter des Kindes lebt tief im Wald und freut sich immer sehr, wenn ihre Enkelin sie besucht. In seiner Gutmütigkeit ahnt das Rotkäppchen, das mit allen Tieren gut befreundet ist, nicht, dass es jemanden geben könnte, der ihr nach dem Leben trachtet. Tatsächlich haben der böse Wolf und sein Gehilfe, der listige Fuchs, es auf das Mädchen abgesehen.
