"With Benji Roger's stirring and soulful voice and driving guitar hooks, which the Black Crowes would be proud of, Marwood draw you into a world of lush harmonies and compelling rhythms. I defy you not to be singing along at the top of your voice by the second hearing!!" - Jeff Collins, The BBC
Marwood combines catchy hooks with guitar-driven rock. The band is based in New York City's East Village with roots spanning from Tennessee to Europe. They have shared the bill with Antigone Rising and Rooney, and performed at venues including The Bowery Ballroom, The Mercury Lounge, CBGB's and The Knitting Factory. Marwood is rapidly captivating fans and critics alike, with New York Newsday deeming their sound “stunning alternative pop.” The Boston Globe further hails Marwood’s music, calling it “a guitar lovers’ rock of the infectious rhythm kind.” The band has also been featured in publications including The Washington Post, The Village Voice and amNew York. The band’s momentum has carried over to airwaves, with spins on XM Satellite Radio, NJ’s G-Rock Radio and numerous college stations. Their music has also been featured on NYC's Q104.3 (Clear Channel), where Marwood was selected as one of the top local bands. The single "Monday Over Friday" hits the airwaves in November with a great new video to go along with it.
2006 is already promising to be a big year for Marwood. Armed with a brand new 6-song EP, the band is lining up shows all over the country--they plan on making sure the whole world gets to hear what they can do.
Watch out for Marwood - you can't miss 'em!
