On 4/20/2013 I built a cardboard robot head with a handycam and smartphone as the only method of seeing my surroundings. I attended and performed at "The Real Coachella" at the Trunk Space as Cardboard Cyborg (billed as "Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra with Johnny Marr feat. El-P), where I streamed my visual input across Twitter and Facebook. Throughout the night, many people logged into my twitter account and received live feeds from my only source of sight. Those feeds, while archived, are not longer available to watch, as the the intent was to allow people to "ride along" not "watch later." What can be watched now is the feed from Cardboard Cyborg's internal memory. Thanks to The Real Coachella, the Trunk Space, and all of the people who interacted with me throughout the night.

A new release finally for March 2013! AVB and Laura V's gorgeous Drowning is treated to a dark and deep rework utilising Jaco's Malaysia for a complete bassline replacement that really suits Drowning and gives it much needed bottom end kick. A nice shift through the middle and latter parts of the track too. Its much harder and more progressive than the past couple of releases without sacrificing a great vocal trance feel. I love how this turned out. Give it a proper chance and listen the whole way through once or twice... Drowning was already a beautiful track but the introduction of the bassline from Malaysia takes its club floor appeal to new heights, or rather, depths. The standard remixes weren't enough and the club versions didn't sound aggressive enough. This was lifted to 134bpm with a keylock on it, whereas Jaco's bassline was already close to this mark and didn't ...

Hope everyone listening enjoys this new remix, it's a combination of the best parts of the standard remix release set, ranging from Beat Service to Clinton VanSchiver to the Radio edit. At its core it has been sped up and had the intro melody from the radio edit put behind a number of parts of Clinton VanSchiver's bassline, however Beat Service's midrange vocals were clearer and punchier so I went with those. This track ended up about +2bpm on the original so its not a big change, but its just enough to give it a bit of extra energy. I switch basslines through the track but keep mid and treble added and in time so it feels more like a progression than any kind of fade over. Welcome to 2013! Our first release for the new year. This time it's a labour of love, being the beautiful Nadia Ali's vocals again. This one starts out dark and deep and nasty sounding, sweetens up with vocals and then turns more uplifting. With Must be the Love having been already given the once-over by not exactly unknown BT and Arty, we take the piano solo sections and loop them in places on the KORG, while running no less than 3 decks for the majority of our remix. The pace is picked up by around 1:39 and onto the change at 2, then again as the huge and epic bassline drops towards the end. This track will have legs for quite some time :)
Our studio re-dub took over 3 weeks and includes more than 700 working files. A lot of sampling and looping was needed to raise the intensity of the track, and there's always a lot of room to move within Nadia Ali's awesome vocal range.

Hi all, I really love this stomping track so I thought I'd share how it turned out, it's been 3 months since our last release and it seemed about time I produced something fresh and I think this fits the bill nicely. Nadia Ali's vocals are always epic, but on this occasion blending in Three Drive's brilliant Letting You go resulting in an awesome combination. Put together in only a few passes on the vestax decks/mackie mixer setup, the bottom and midrange from Letting You Go provide a really great filler for several parts of Believe it and the two artist's vocals go well together being of relatively similar tone & range. Pitched aggressively and interwoven (I think) seamlessly, this is a bit of a stomper...check the massive bass response up loud and the cleanliness of the mid and top end is beautiful, great vocals, I managed to tidy up all the levels and I'm glad this is how we are ...
