Forty years after President John F. Kennedy was fatally shot on November 22, 1963, over 70 percent of Americans still believe there was a conspiracy to kill him and that the suspected assasin, Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone.
utilizing modern technology, computer animator Dale Myers created a digital simulation of the only known film of the murder, a 16 mm home movie taken by Leon Zapruder, a bystander that filmed the fatal shots. Then Myers matched this digital film to a three dimensional computer model of Dealey Plaza which he created that reconstructs the plaza exactly as it appeared at the time of the murder. The resulting digital animation allowed Myers to recreate the exact view point from any perspective within the plaza at the moment and finally provide concrete evidence of whether or not Oswald was a long assasin or if an actual conspiracy consisted.
Also examined is new evidence discovered years later on an audio tape from an open police microphone at the scene and other theories that circulated including Communist ties and mob involvement in the assassination.
A report on the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy in 1963, presented on the day of publication of the Warren Commission Report in 1964. Interviewed are people who knew or encountered his accused killer Lee Harvey Oswald, people who witnessed the assassination, people who witnessed the killing of police officer J.D. Tippit shortly afterward, Oswald's arrest and detention, and the shooting of Oswald by Jack Ruby two days later. Many of the witnesses are interviewed at the sites where the events occurred. News film and video clips from the weekend of the assassination are included. Finally, the conclusions of the Warren Commission are given.

A CBS News Inquiry: The Warren Report , June 25 through June 28, 1967
Lee Harvey Oswald killed President Kennedy, and acted alone. Those were the conclusions of the blue-ribbon Warren Commission in 1964. But America didn't buy it.
So CBS News mounted its own original investigations, gaining important new insights that the Commission didn't - or couldn't - reach on its own. Their extraordinary efforts include building the first-ever full-size replica of the shooting trajectory, with an actual-height sniper tower and a moving target. Was it possible for Oswald to fire all the shots in the time available? Was there a gunman on the grassy knoll? Was there a "magic bullet?" Was there a conspiracy? Walter Cronkite and CBS News pursue the answers and draw their own conclusions in a four-hour special report.
