Beide ziehen auf die Pepperotti, einem kleinen Schiff, das dem Freund (Al) von Scott gehört. Scotts Ziel ist es, den "leuchtenden Wal" zu finden. Mit der Zeit kommen auch Sharly und ihr Buttler James auf das Schiff und ein kleiner Junge Namens Thomas. Gemeinsam suchen sie den leuchtenden Wal. Alles scheint in bester Ordnung zu sein, wären da nicht gierige Leute, die ebenfalls den Wal finden wollen. Und zu allem Überfluss geschieht auch noch ein Unglück, bei dem Tico stirbt und zurück bleibt ihr Sohn Junior und eine tot unglückliche Nanami, für die eine Welt zusammenbricht. Jetzt muss sich Nanami um Junior kümmern, der Nanami aber überhaupt nicht mag, weil Nanami sich so gut mit seiner Mutter verstand. Doch nun sind sie ihrem Ziel näher, wie je zu vor. Schaffen es Nanami und Junior Freunde zu werden? Und gelingt es ihnen den leuchtenden Wal zu finden?
