București, 1989. Eva, fratele ei mai mic Lalalilu si parinții lor locuiesc intr-un cartier mărginaș al capitalei. Lalilu are 7 ani si o adora pe Eva. Ea are 17 ani si este pentru prima dată îndrăgostită. Viața Evei se schimbă însă în ziua în care ea și Alexandru sparg în școală, din greșeală, bustul lui Ceaușescu. Sunt prinși și li se cere să își facă autocritica în fața adunării şcolare. Obligat de tatăl său, Alexandru se umilește și scapă. Eva refuză, este exmatriculată și transferată la o școală profesională de la periferia orașului. Îl părăsește pe Alexandru si, împreună cu Andrei, pune la cale un plan să fugă din România. Vor să treacă Dunărea îNnot. Martor al plecării celor doi, Lalilu ia decizia vieții lui. Un film despre cum un puști de 7 ani ne-a scăpat de Ceaușescu, iar o adolescentă de 17 ani și-a putut hotărî viitorul, o tragi-comedie cu nuanțe de absurd și sublim. La Cannes 2006, premiul de intrerpretare feminina a sectiunii "Un certain regard" il obţinea Dorotheea Petre. În 2005 proiectul a câștigat premiul NHK/Sundance pentru Cel mai bun proiect European, o distincție remarcabilă acordată de celebrul festival american condus de Robert Redford.
