Shiqian Selena is the daughter of Peiquing Zheng and Wenjing
Hou. Her favorite verse is Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things
through Christ who strengthens me."
Selena has attended AVCS all four years of high school. Her
freshman and sophomore years she performed community service
at Desert Vineyard Church and participated in Mathletes. As
a junior, Selena participated in basketball at AVCS and played
on the volleyball team during the summer months in China.
Selena is a quiet inspiration to all who know her and approached
every task with confidence. Her senior year, Selena joined the
leadership team in student government and was a member of the
Dorm Council as well as a member of the California Scholarship
Federation her junior and senior years. Selena taught Chinese
Club for elementary students for two years.
She has been accepted to UC Santa Cruz and Oregon State
University. Selena plans to major in business. Her goal is be a
successful businesswoma
