Sapphire International School, Noida celebrated its 3rd Annual Sports Day on 16th December, 2012 with high spirits and jubilation. The Sports Captains proudly carried the torch relay lending the ceremony a ceremonial fervor. The cultural programme began with auspicious tradition of lamp lighting. Later, Sapphire choir recited the Namokar and Gayatri Mantra as a traditional start by offering prayers to the Almighty and performed a musical rendition on the song “WE ARE THE WORLD” by Michael Jackson giving a message of humanity. The Korean Fan Dance was performed by more than 150 sapphire students in vibrant dresses and colorful fans as props and touched a chord in every heart with their enthralling performance. Various obstacle races like balloon bursting, rabbit, shopping, balancing, mat rolling, string the beads and crawling race were conducted by little tiny tots of Pre – primary wing. Apart from these, skating, tea-kwon-do, aerobics, parachute drill performances were also conducted by students of Primary wing. Hon’ble Chairperson, Shri Jeevan Kumar Jain and Headmistress, Dr. Snigdha Sachdeva applauded the outstanding performances given by students and dedicated efforts of school sports coaches. The winners were honored with medals and certificates.
