The sister concern of Sun Network - Udaya TV in Karnataka standing in No.1 position among all the satellite channels has announced the prominent awards and 2013 Kannada film awards nominations to the 28 categories. Besides offering support to senior artists KC Kala, Kunigal Nagabhushan ailing as on today, Udaya TV management has instituted 'Udaya Hasiru' award from this year. The noted mother of trees - Salumaradha Thimmakka and environmentalist cum actor cum director of Kannada cinema Suresh Heblikar receive the award at a glittering function on Sunday evening at 6pm at Krishna Vihara, Bangalore Palace. Dr Jayamala and Dwarakish receive the lifetime achievement awards this year and with cultural pack on the evening the 28 category awards for Kannada cinema artists and technicians will be presented on this evening. Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar presides over the awards celebration. Deputy chief ministers R Ashok and Eshwarappa, Dr Ambarish, Vijayakumar KFCC President, Munirathna Naidu, MS Ramesh, Ashok will be present. It is Samsung Galaxy Grand Udaya Film Awards.
