Gabby Douglas continues to shine with star power with gracing the cover in a gorgeous spread for Essence magazine scheduled for release this fall.

With Gabby Douglas historic Olympic performance many consider her Americaapos;s new golden girl.

Douglas changed up from sporting her ponytail to showcasing her long wavy locks, courtesy of celebrity stylist Ted Gibson,who shared with Essence Magazine that doing Douglas's hair was one of the highlights of his career. "Seeing her sparkle, seeing her touch her hair, seeing her smile," he says was his favorite part of the photo shoot.
