PORT-AU-PRINCE (April 11, 2009) The Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20) is anchored near Port-au-Prince supporting Continuing Promise 2009 (CP09), a humanitarian and civic assistance mission to Latin America and the Caribbean. CP09 combines U.S. military and interagency personnel, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academic and partner nations to provide medical, dental, veterinary and engineering services afloat and ashore alongside host nation personnel. Comfort is on a four-month humanitarian and civic assistance mission to Latin America and the Caribbean region. It is also scheduled to visit Antigua and Barbuda, Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Panama. (U.S. Army video by Spc. Nashaunda Tilghman/Released)
