They Never Come Back is a hard hitting dramatic story about a boxer with true heart. It’s also an exploration of the seedy underbelly of 1930s America, from the bloody boxing ring to the shady cabaret. Regis Toomey plays a fighter who tragically loses his mother and then breaks his arm in a fight that night. Down on his luck, he takes works as a bouncer at a swanky thirties nightclub. The club is of ill repute, but Toomey manages to find love with the burlesque dancer there, who is also good natured but has fallen on hard times. Toomey finds a reason to live and, more importantly, to fight. They Never Come Back builds to an engrossing crescendo as Toomey must finally fight the best boxer in town.
