Though school doesn't begin for two weeks, a group of parents and students gathered at Braeburn Elementary this morning. They stuffed envelopes with letters informing the community of the passing of Kindergarten teacher Kathy Carella.
Mrs. Carella had been fighting lung cancer for more than two years. Parents and students shared memories from her classroom and the fond ways in which they will remember her.
The Molloy Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Kathyâs funeral. Calling hours will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm on Friday, August 21. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, August 22 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church on Farmington Avenue in West Hartford.
