After listening to several of the owl calls, I thought the bird was a Barn Owl. And, after listening to the various Screech Owl calls, I wondered why they are called Screech Owls. None of them have a screech sound. They should have called the Barn Owl a Screech Owl.
However, I shared the recording with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology in New York. After doing a little research they said they believe it is a Juvenile Great Horned Owl.
