First you be greeted by Dr. McKenzie and his team, followed by a photograph session for documentation purpose regarding your balding complaints.
You will then be taken to the procedure room for administering a mild sedative. The donor strip will then be frozen at the back of your head and we will remove a strip of the hair bearing scalp. Since the area is frozen you won’t feel anything. Then the area of the strip will be closed as so donor area. The technicians prepare the graft from strip using the binocular stereoscopic dissection method. The graft is implanted on to the recipient area where you lose hair. Usually each follicular unit contains about 1 to 3 hairs. Since that’s the natural way the hair grows, we preserve it the same way. The whole procedure takes 6 to 8 hours.
In between this you can have your lunch or watch some movie! After surgery you will be driven home. You would have some pain medications until 48 hours.
