Nabonga is a camp film classic from the forties, with such delights as an American girl befriending a giant gorilla in the African jungle. Played by the voluptuous singer Julie London, the young girl was the victim of a plane crash with her white collar criminal father who left valuable treasure scattered in the wilderness. London would surely not have survived if not for her bonding with the large primate Nabonga. When action star Larry “Buster” Crabbe comes looking for the loot, he finds London and Nabonga and decides they’re more precious to him than any wealth. As the greedy bad guys are in hot pursuit, the motley threesome dashes through perils in the dangerous jungle. Filled with nonstop fights, beasts, and treasures, Nabonga is absurd safari fun at its finest.
