10cc - I'm Not In Love
Major 70s UK (founded in Stockport, Greater Manchester, England) pop/artrock band. The original line-up of Eric Stewart, Kevin Godley, Lol Creme and Graham Gouldman had composed together and been in the band Hotlegs (Gouldman only briefly) before forming 10cc in 1972 and signing with Jonathan King's UK Records after being turned down by Apple Records. The band's music is a blend of pop, artrock often drawing on other genres, on the debut album especially the 50s.
The original line-up lasted four years, reaching worldwide success in 1975 with the ballad "I'm Not In Love." In 1976 Godley and Creme left to form the more arty Godley & Creme while Stewart and Gouldman continued as 10cc. The first album by the new 10cc, the 1977 "Deceptive Bends" maintained the pop appeal of the group, but after 1978 hit "Dreadlock Holiday" from "Bloody Tourists" and Stewart's crisis following a car crash the band never returned to the major pop league.

Grand Funk Railroad (also known as Grand Funk) is an American rock band that was highly popular during the 1970s. Grand Funk Railroad toured constantly to packed arenas worldwide. David Fricke of Rolling Stone Magazine writes "You cannot talk about rock in the 1970s without talking about GRAND FUNK RAILROAD!" The band's name is a play on words of the Grand Trunk and Western Railroad, a railroad line that ran through the band's home town of Flint, Michigan.

Progressive rock band from Toronto, Canada founded in 1976 by Cameron Hawkins and Nash The Slash. Disbanded in 1989 and reformed in 1994-1996, 2006 and again since 2011.
The group has undergone several line-up changes over the years, with Cameron Hawkins being the only constant member. Their material tends to be centered around space and science-fiction themes, although they also pursued a mainstream pop sound during the mid 1980s before disbanding.
After a long hiatus aside from a few reunion performances, Cameron Hawkins re-launched the group with a new line-up and album in 2015.

UFO - Full Live Rock Concert TV Broadcast 1974.
British heavy metal/hard rock band formed in 1969. UFO's story began in London back in 1969, when vocalist Phil Mogg, drummer Andy Parker, guitarist Mick Bolton and bassist Pete Way formed the group.
The global breakthrough arrived when German guitarist, Michael Schenker, joined the fold in 1973, having left his band Scorpions to follow an offer by Phil Mogg and Pete Way.
The band underwent numerous line-up changes, and to everyone's surprise, autumn 1993 saw the return of the former UFO line-up consisting of Mogg, Way, Schenker, Parker and Raymond. However, Schenker left UFO during the Walk On Water tour again to continue working with his own group, MSG. Phil Mogg and Andy Parker were still members of UFO by 2019, when the band began what they called a farewell tour. Mogg's health issues resulted in UFO cancelling what was planned to be one last tour in 2022, and in April 2024, he confirmed that the band was finished.

When American blue-eyed soul/pop singer and backing vocalist Joyce Berry was younger back in 1977, she heard a pop song on the radio, called, "People In Love" by British pop band 10cc she would be more familiar with and then also bought both a small 45 RPM single and a sheet music of the same song, so she had to learn the words to that song over and over again until she was satisfied with it, so she decided to sing it lower in her smoky alto than band member Eric Stewart in his tenor.
Since Joyce is a straightforward pop/soul singer with a soft ballad
voice in a real authentic style, she moves away from the Godley &
Creme artistic, abstract art-rock stuff, progressive rock, avant-garde,
rock opera and experimental stuff when she said "No, I don't like the
abstract art-rock stuff of Godley & Creme because I find it bland
and boring that lacks soul. I don't like it. I prefer Eric Stewart &
Graham Gouldman better that have more soul than that when they made such real authentic pop music that I'm always crazy about.", so she decided to focus more on some of the straightforward Stewart &
Gouldman pop stuff that she is more comfortable with.

"People In Love" - original by 10cc
'People In Love' is Eric's turn to go all gooey-eyed and we'll be getting a lot of these love-lorn ballads from him over the next few albums. Some of them will be stunningly gorgeous, but sadly this inferior sequel to 'The Things We Do For Love' isn't one of his best. The song was actually the very last track ever recorded by the 'old' line-up of 10cc where it had the curious working title 'Voodoo Boogie' (it was later released in 2012 on the 'Tenology' box set) - maybe it was the thought of working on an album full of mawkish songs like this that caused Godley and Creme to quit. Eric is always good at sounding like he's in love, though and 'People In Love' is like one of those kitsch ornaments: so exquisitely carved and molded with so much care and talent that you're impressed even whilst you're being sick from the sheer OTT ness of it all (if ever a song was already so far gone it could have done without syrupy strings it's this one!) Some of the lyrics are sweet though and on an album where 'The Things We Do For Love' hasn't already made the point better this song would be better regarded. Love is again an illness, a form of insanity almost, that turns the narrator's life upside down and means he can 'do nothing right' - another very universal song, then, although some of what it causes the narrator to do sounds rather unusual ('Walk under buses and burn your wings' - sounds like a problem with his eyesight to me, not his lovesick heart). Note the first appearance of a key theme of later Eric Stewart songs - the idea that the narrator
never gets enough time with his beloved before being forced to go
somewhere else and the thought that time moves quicker when you're enjoying yourself (this is the key theme of 'Windows In The Jungle'). A bit of a gooey mess, 'People In Love' should only be listened to by 'People In Love' who can stand the saccharine, although if Eric's vocals on this recording don't make you fall in love with him you have a heart of stone (or a cold).

While working on a 'Best of 2012' set I got distracted by these two brand new tracks and their interesting alignment resulting in this sweet sweet sound. Nice vocals, the offset of the vocal bar was happy in any of 3 different positions and it just sounds nice and sweet/summery house-y. BPM was increased to just over 131.6 and a very small bit of EQ and manual maintenance was done on both tracks. They both have a good bassline and are complimentary to each other in terms of where they peak. Combining the talents of Bingo Players with EDX is not an obvious choice, but something that was worth doing. Hope you enjoy :) It took a few hours and had to be recorded on the decks there just was no way to get it to line up tightly enough in a wave editor or as a pure loop/synth setup.
