✓ Reference: http://quran.com/37/50-60 ----------------------------------------------------------------- Surah As-Saffat (Those who set the Ranks) Ayat 50-60 [37 : 50] So one among them turns to the other, questioning. - [37 : 51] The speaker among them said, "I had a companion." - [37 : 52] "Who used to tell me, 'Do you believe it is true?' - [37 : 53] 'That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?' " [37 : 54] He said (to others on the thrones), "Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?" [37 : 55] He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. [37 : 56] He said, "By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!" [37 : 57] "And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!" [37 : 58] "So are we never to die?" (The people of Paradise will ask the angels, with delight, after the announcement of everlasting life.) [37 : 59] "Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?" [37 : 60] "This is, most certainly, the supreme success."
According to Islam a man can have up to 4 wives, but if he cannot do justice between them, then he can only marry ONE. Surprisingly to many, the statement of marrying only one is found only in the Qur'an, and not in any other religious scripture. Muslim women wear a veil to be modest and protected in society, and most important of all, because it is a commandment from their Lord.

Please DO SHARE* ✓ In Islam, Muslim Women CHOOSE to cover themselves because it is a commandment in the Qur'an, the Verbatim Word of God. The hijab is, among other things, a dress code that protects women and gives them modesty and respect. Everything should be covered for a woman when she goes outside in public, everything except: the face and hands. The clothes have to be loose so that the curves of the body be concealed, the clothes cannot be see-through, the clothes should not resemble that of men. ✓ The newsflashes on television misrepresent Islam, showing and picking up some of the black sheep among the Muslims. Such black sheep exist in every religion, including Christianity. ✓ To understand the principles of a religion, one should look at its scriptures, not the followers. So to understand Islam for what is truly is, one should above all look in the Qur'an. You can read & listen to the Qur'an online at the following sites: quran.com (Recommended) quranexplorer.com globalquran.com/ * For the sake of raising awareness and eliminating prejudices, promoting understanding, decreasing racism, and making the world a better place. People should know the truth about Islamic Rulings as opposed to sensationalized lies fed by the popular media. ______________________________________________________ Clips taken from the lecture "What do you really know about Islam" delivered by Khalid Yasin in 2002 in Australia.
This illuminating and authoritative account, a major 13-part television series written and presented by the distinguished historian, John Roberts, comments upon the history of western civilisation from its earliest roots in the Graeco-Roman and Judaeo-Christian traditions and seeks to uncover what it was that gave European culture its outward push and confident energy for so many centuries. What has provided its unique vigour beyond its own boundaries that so distinguished it from other world civilisations? Professor Roberts here not only identifies and traces a number of the continuing strands running through the West's conceptions of itself and other civilisations, but draws a picture of the nature of its often flawed and complicated triumph. The paradoxical and, in the end, irreversible impact of the West on the rest of the world provides a fascinating story. Its working-out reverberates to this day in our own lives. Professor Roberts' telling of it, in this richly illustrated and brilliantly argued book, is based on examples drawn from a huge range of world history, examples which are stimulating, provocative and always challenging. 1. Dangerous Gifts This programme looks at China, Japan and India. 2. New Direction This programme examines religious beliefs in a secular age. 3. Heart of the West This programme discusses the fact that there wasn't always a Europe… 4. Islam - the World's Debate This programme examines the Crusades & Western aggression. 5. East of Europe This programme looks at Byzantine Christianity and the Ottoman Empire. If you have episodes 6-13 could you please contact me at Monmouthaust@gmail.com
