A project supported by grants to the Haw River Trail by Great Outdoor Provision Company and Patagonia. The Point-of-view project is working to provide both a conservation view and recreational paddler view, of any water body, with continuous footage from point to point along the river. Our goal on this trip was to show the basic technique of splitting the view into left and right bank, plus sufficient forward view that both riparian buffer data could be collected as well as provide video for prospective tourists and boaters planning trips down sections of rapids, where prior, virtual trip taking could provide added public safety. Our mission at the Haw River Trail, has been to protect river health and promote conservation by providing recreational access, with the intent that users of the river would become the eyes and ears lacking in the state department of Environment, to help monitor our shared jewel, the Haw River.
