In 2008 (19th to 22nd June), the BMW International Open celebrates an anniversary: The tournament is being staged in BMW’s home city, at the famous Munich Eichenried Golf Club, for the 20th time. This just goes to show what a pivotal and far-reaching moment the forming of the BMW International Open in 1989 was for BMW. This decision, and the way this tournament successfully established itself on the European Tour, laid the foundation for all BMW’s subsequent commitments to professional golf.
