Johan Santana dropped a decision last Saturday in his first home start as a Met against the Brewers as he surrendered three home runs to Milwaukee hitters in defeat. Santana has been solid this season striking out 18, walking 4 and allowing just under 1 base runner per innings pitched. The Mets broke a 9 game losing streak against the Phillies by taking the last 2 at home in their series last week. Cole Hamels has been good this season, as the left-hander has given up only 2 earned runs 22 innings pitched this season. Hamels pitched well in 2 lifetime starts against the Mets at Shea. Both pitchers are in good form and don't allow baserunners. I am going to play this one under 8 ½ runs.
