This is a video of Joe Gransden & Big Band at the Café 290 with their holiday show in December 2010. I met Joe at the friend's birthday party performing with an excellent jazz guitarist a few years ago. His trumpet playing was beautiful and expressive. The lyrical feel of his phrasing reminded me my favorite trumpet player Chris Botti who recorded with Sting and many others. I was happy to discover that Joe regularly performs with his big band at the local jazz hot spot Café 290. I found out about it when I heard the show broadcast live on local FM Jazz radio station WCLK and I was very impressed. This video was captured with my snapshot Canon SX210 so the picture quality is not the best. I have enhanced the sound with high quality audio plug-ins, so you can enjoy this glimpse of a great performance with world caliber musicians (there is a Grammy Award winner among them).
