"Home" was my first time filming and editing a staged theatrical performance, which presented a unique set of challenges. While it is always difficult to condense an hour or two of footage down to five minutes, conveying the plot of a two hour theatrical piece, as well as the views of the actors, required that every frame contributed to that goal. I differentiated the performance footage from the question and answer session footage by having one set appear in color and one set in black and white. I also had a little fun creating the title sequence using the cameraperson's quick-moving set up shots with some time-remapped footage and some rock music from the performance as background music for a music video feel. This was also my first time using LiveType software to generate the title slates.
