Conventional bicycle helmets have been proven to reduce injuries and lessen the chance of death from accidents, but many cyclists choose not to wear potentially life-saving helmets because they find them uncomfortable or ugly. Now, two enterprising Swedish women, Terese Alstin and Anna Haupt, have developed a fashionable, “invisible” bike helmet that might solve this problem. The result of extensive research and airbag technology, the helmet deploys only when it detects an impending crash.
