Why is it critical that the sewer mains on Alaska Avenue and Buren Road be replaced? ⢠The streets will soon be âÂÂtorn upâ to replace old and worn water mains. We save a great deal of money by replacing the sewer mains at the same time. ⢠The sewer mains are over 50 years old and in very poor condition. Failure of the sewer mains would be catastrophic for uphill and downhill residents. ⢠The State will pay approximately 50% of the cost.
