City leaders are following up rumors that Comcast Cable wants to shut-down live community programming after over thirty years of service. Residents have voiced their concern about Community Cable Stations Channel 28 and 190. The Leased Access Producers Association (LAPA) is asking Wilmington citizens to sign a card pledging to change their Video Service Provider if Comcast Cable shuts the local community station down. Comcast CableâÂÂs Franchise Agreement expires with the City of Wilmington October 2010. The people own the right-of-ways and the air waves not a corporation or the government.
