David Abrahams, a wealthy property developer, admitted he used friends and colleagues to give substantial sums to Labour over four years in order to avoid publicity. According to Electoral Commission records he is Labour's third biggest donor. Jon Mendelsohn, the Labour Party's chief fundraiser, has admitted that he knew that David Abrahams was donating to the party through other people. For a party 20 million in debt, it is simply not believable for the Prime Minister to claim that he was unaware of Labour's third-largest donor.
