In May I saw what appeared to be a very unique hummingbird. I got my video camera and shot some video and put it on my computer and made some screen shots and emailed them to a few places to see just what it was. The Ornithology Department at Cornell University in New York replied saying they think it is a Hummingbird Hawk Moth and included a link to the Wikipedia

They said “What specific type of moth it is, I'm afraid I can't tell you. You'd need to find an entomologist for that.
