After a young deer named Marsias falls victim to a hunter’s rifle, he finds himself behind the wheel of a convertible on the dark highway of death. He meets the hitch-hiking corpse of Silène, a pathologically-lying fox, and they set off in search of the legendary 5-star afterlife ranch. Along the way, they team up with a half-digested toad, a poisoned owl and a Volvo-splattered marten. The dead animals compare their personal stories of recent demise and realise that their fates are all connected to a common enemy: humanity. United in their outrage, they set a course for revenge.
