West Hartford is now an official HeartSafe community. The program is designed to promote awareness of the number one killer in the nation as well as Connecticut... heart disease.
There are 39 other towns who have been awarded HeartSafe designations. To qualify, the town must have citizens trained in CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), first responders including police and fire rescue trained in CPR and must have AED's (automated external defibrillators) available in public places. West Hartford submitted the application exceeding all requirements.
The designation is to be reviewed every three years. Distributed by Tubemogul.
