On a windy, rainy night, a motley group of travelers trying to cross the border into Canada must all escape the weather by spending the night at the sinister-seeming Black Raven Inn. George Zucco plays the creepy owner, who seems to have a shadowy past himself. Among the travelers are an engaged couple trying to elope, a bank clerk who has stolen $50,000, and an escaped convict. After someone is murdered, a county sheriff gets involved.
