The empowerment of women is key to reducing the effects of poverty. Here in a village close to the town of Qena in upper Egypt, the community is leading the way in breaking down resistance to women's involvement in local politics and community decisions. The film is researched and presented by two young journalists trained by Offshoot to report on the MDGs for the UN's Sailing the Nile project.
