Korea's remarkable contribution to the World Heritage List of UNESCO includes dolmen sites in Hwasung, Gochang, and Ganghwa (which were registered in 2000); Gyeongju Historic Areas (2000), Changdeokgung Palace (1997), Hwasung Fortress (1997), Bulgaksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto (1995), Haeinsa Temple Janggyeong Panjeon which stores the Tripitaka Koreana Woodblocks (1995), and Jongmyo Shrine (1995). These prehistoric sites and ancient architectures attest to the unrelenting spirit of Koreans that have survived for thousands of years.
