The first part of the Trinkets trilogy. The trinkets trilogy is an experimental, poetic documentary about how the way in which Canadians define themselves, and how our "cultural products" in actuality are nothing more than mere "trinkets" - an item that is hollow of actual meaning, but only is a representation of that which does not exist.
This part examines the way in which we see Canadian history, and it invites you - through its fast pased editing - to contemplate the actual significance of these pieces, or trinkets, of Canadian culture. Filmed and photographed entirely at the Royal Ontario Museum in toronto, this section deals specifically with the representation of north american native culture's representation through objects.
