The Wishing Well is a groundbreaking short film by special-effects artist and actor Rod Maxwell. Maxwell shot the entire film by himself from a small 4x4 foot space in front of a homemade greenscreen in his livingroom. There was no crew, no one else behind or in front of the camera. Prior to shooting, he spent a year sculpting and molding all of the prosthetics and fat-suits that he would eventually use to become the 26 men, women, and children that appear in the film. In the spirit of Charlie Chaplin, Mr. Bean, and Jacques Tati, Maxwell breathes life into a world of characters without uttering a single word.
