In my quest for the greatest burger in the Northwest, my vote goes for Fat Smitty's on Hwy 101 between Sequim and Port Townsend on the Olympic Penninsula in WA. Run by Fat Smitty, a retired Marine, and his Hawaiian wife Mickey, Fat Smitty's is all that is good about the USA -- weird wood carvings out front, red and white checked table clothes on vinyl and metal tables/chairs, a classic bar, try their blackberry shakes in season, but yeah, it's for the burgers!
