Kibera Integrated Project (KIP) is a local community organization that empowers and improves the live of hundreds of people in Kibera, the largest and most densely populated slum in Africa and one of the biggest in the world with almost 1 million people. In a place where there is a 70% unemployment rate, KIP is successfully working to provide vocational training in selling fruits, vegetables, and fish, and wood carving. KIP is also an inspirational local leader on safe water and sanitation education (which helps prevent disease), environmental conservation, and protecting vulnerable and orphaned children.
