Gamers and PS3 fans have a lot to celebrate. Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) is announcing a new, 80GB model of its PLAYSTATION3 (PS3). At the same time, the company is reducing the price of the existing 60GB PS3 model. Beginning in August, the new 80GB PS3 model will be available in North America for a suggested retail price of $599 and will be sold with the popular online-enabled racing game MotorStorm. The current 60GB system will now retail for $499, $100 less than the original launch price. The new 80GB PS3 is expected to appeal to the online gaming and entertainment enthusiast, by providing more storage space to download more games and other entertainment content from the popular PLAYSTATION Network.
