Meli'sa Morgan:
Meli'sa Morgan iis an American R&B/Soul singer–songwriter. Morgan had a string of urban contemporary hits from the mid–1980s to the mid–1990s. Most notable include her cover version of Prince's "Do Me, Baby" (1985), "Do You Still Love Me" (1986) and "Still in Love with You" (1992).
Do Me Baby:
"Do Me, Baby" is a 1981 ballad performed by Prince, from his fourth album, Controversy. Although it was credited as being written by him, it is alleged to have been written by his former bassist and childhood friend André Cymone.[3] It was released as the third and final US single from the album. It was later included on his 1993 compilation The Hits/The B-Sides. In 1986, the song was notably covered by R&B singer Meli'sa Morgan. It was featured in one of the opening scenes of the 2007 film Rush Hour 3, with Chris Tucker's character singing along while listening to it on his headphones and simultaneously directing traffic with the dance sequences of Michael Jackson.

Not only one of the landmark records of the disco era, Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" also anticipated the emergence of techno -- sleek, pulsating, and sensual, its signature galloping bass line and sequencer-driven rhythm established the sonic blueprint for virtually all of the dance music to follow in its wake. Written by Summer in tandem with her longtime production team of Giorgio Moroder and Peter Bellotte, upon its 1977 release "I Feel Love" heralded a massive shift from the lushly orchestral disco records popular during the middle of the decade toward a harder-edged, electronic approach -- completely computer-generated, the song's futuristic sheen combines with its dreamily orgasmic vocal to create an experience that's both clinically remote and primally erotic. Summer's second Top Ten hit, "I Feel Love" ranks alongside Brian Eno's Another Green World and Kraftwerk's Trans Europe Express among the era's seminal electronic recordings, and is perhaps even more pivotal because of its mainstream success; a subsequent 20-minute remix by Patrick Cowley pushed the envelope even further, while in 1985 the Jimmy Somerville-led Bronski Beat recorded a hit cover featuring Marc Almond.
"The Winner Takes It All" is a song recorded by Swedish pop group ABBA. Released as the first single from the group's seventh studio album, Super Trouper (1980), it is a ballad in the key of F# major, reflecting on the end of a relationship. The single's B-side was the non-album track "Elaine". The song peaked at No.1 in several countries, including the UK, where it became their eighth chart-topper. It was also the group's final top 10 hit in the United States. It was written by Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, with Agnetha Fältskog singing the lead vocal.
On this song, "The Winner Takes It All", Pattie Brooks, Myrna Matthews, Danielle McCormick, Marti McCall, Denise Maynelli, Petsye Powell, Laura Rammer, Marie Tomlinson and Brooks Hunnicut never sang backup.
In a 1999 poll for Channel 5, "The Winner Takes It All" was voted Britain's favorite ABBA song. This feat was replicated in a 2010 poll for ITV. In a 2006 poll for a Channel Five program, "The Winner Takes It All" was voted "Britain's Favorite Break-Up Song."

Democracy Now! Friday, 10th March 2006
We have an extended conversation with Tony Benn, one of Britain’s most distinguished politicians and the longest serving MP in the history of the Labour party. Benn discusses the new revelations the British government helped Israel build the atom bomb. Benn also speaks about U.S. and U.K. relations, extraordinary rendition, Guantanamo Bay, torture, religion, and the state of the media. [includes rush transcript]
BBC News revealed Thursday the British government secretly supplied Israel with hundreds of chemical shipments in the 1960’s, despite fears the chemicals could be used to develop nuclear weapons. Analysts say the shipments, which included plutonium, helped speed up Israel’s acquisition of an atomic bomb. All told, the BBC reported the British chemicals could have been used to produce bombs 20 times as powerful as those dropped on Hiroshima.
The deals were made in violation of strict government policy. According to de-classified government documents, a British government official named Michael Michaels oversaw the shipments behind the backs of his superiors. One of these superiors is our guest today. Tony Benn was Britain’s Minister of Technology at the time. That post was one of many that have come in the career of one of Britain’s most distinguished politicians.
Tony Benn served in the British Parliament for over half a century. He is the longest serving MP in the history of the Labour party, which he joined in 1942. In May 2001, Benn retired from House of Commons to, in his words, “devote more time to politics.” While many politicians take on corporate or lobby positions when they leave office, Benn became one of the harshest and most vocal critics of the Iraq war. He is a prominent leader of the Stop the War Coalition in Britain.
In February 2003 — one month before the invasion of Iraq — Benn interviewed Saddam Hussein in Baghdad. In December of last year, Benn was the lead signatory to an appeal sent on behalf of dozens of prominent British political and cultural figures asking the UN to investigate the US and British governments for war crimes in Iraq.
I prefer the shortened version that is less Halloween to me and more nighltfie disco with only the singing part, provided by Janis Siegel as a powerful disco diva in the style of Ian Levine & Fiachra Trench from that pop music vocal group.
Here's the story behind the full original from Disco Lab (Halloween Edition):
Sometimes disco was futuristic (robots controlled by the beat) and sometimes it looked to the past (New York high society steppin’ out to mingle). The retro vibe gave a boost to The Manhattan Transfer, a swing-vocal combo formed in 1969 who found a surprise hit with the gospel number “Operator” in 1975. For a few years, the group’s retro ’20s-’30s sound struggled to have hit records in the US, though they broke through consistently in the UK.
All this would change with the group’s fourth album Extensions. One cut, the disco-inflected medley “Twilight Zone/Twilight Tone,” became a surprise hit for the group. It fused the trademark Transfer vocal sound with a spooky, mystical vibe. Extensions was released on Halloween, 1979, which meant that the diehard MT fans had a great supernatural dance party jam for the evening. Everyone else had to wait a year because “Zone/Tone” wasn’t issued as a single until 1980.
“Twilight Zone/Twilight Tone” fuses the theme from the ’60s TV show Twilight Zone with an eerie new composition. Its title perhaps inspired by Duke Ellington’s “In A Mellow Tone,” “Twilight Tone” describes a magical piece of music that sucks its listeners “through a tunnel of the mind” into some alternate dimension. The third verse suggests that swing-band leader Glenn Miller’s 1944 disappearance over the English Channel led to him “play[ing] trombone in the mystic unknown zone.” (Manhattan Transfer had a UK hit years earlier with Miller’s “Tuxedo Junction.”)
The first minute or so of the record recreates the famous Twilight Zone TV theme, complete with ersatz Rod Serling narration; “Rod” returns later to set the stage for the Glenn Miller segment. (Serling passed away in 1975; one wonders if he’d have been flattered to have been immortalized on a dance record.)
The 6:22 remix (extended only slightly from the 6:05 LP version) plays through the TV intro and the first two verses, then lapses beautifully into a guitar solo. A breakdown picks up the Herrmann theme again via a couple different guitar lines, bringing us into the Serling reprise. After the Glenn Miller section, the record ends disappointingly with endless repetition of the “here in the twilight” lyric, perhaps of interest to present-day vampire-fiction fans but boring to everyone else. At least a boogie-woogie piano solo creates some interest.
This bright and energetic number does a good job of propelling a Halloween party into a “pyramidal locomotion from a mystic unknown zone.” And that’s before the jello shots!

Live performance by Willy & The Wonkeye, recorded at the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai by TMS Live China on August 29th 2021. Willy & The Wonkeye is a vocal and guitar duo formed by Scotsman songwriter Chris Blair and Canadian guitarist Kevin Marsh. Much of their music contained themes of redemption and hope, family challenges and modern life struggles. From the countryside of Scotland to the alleys of Shanghai, their music comes from improvisions and spontaneous lyrics. Taking inspiration from artists such as Johnny Cash mixed with more Indie artists, vocalist Chris Blair is a poetic story teller who weaves melodies like a magician. Alongside Blair is guitar wizard Kevin Marsh, and together, they are Willy & the Wonkeye. Some of their songs reveal an exquisite sensitivity that might touch people’s soul, some poetries sculpted into an array of distinct personal facts. Willy & the Wonkeye was formed in 2017 in Shanghai. The pair were introduced through a mutual musician, and not long after their initial meeting, the two sat down in a studio to make some music. Immediately without rehearsal, discussion, or any preconceived ideas, they created four outstanding songs. This is the magic of Willy & the Wonkeye! They do not sit down and work on lyrics or chord progressions. They simply create their songs in real-time. Music available here: https://willyandthewonkeye.bandcamp.com

Going for the scratchy scribbled-on cutouts theme cuz it's been a while since I color comics that way. And I apologize for the rumblyness at the beginning. Back when I was still using the iPad tuning down a bar's velocity was easy in Garageband over there, not so much on the laptop.
"Long, Long Time" is a song written by Gary White.[1] The song was a hit for Linda Ronstadt in 1970.
Linda Ronstadt version
In 1970, Linda Ronstadt released the song as a single and on the album Silk Purse.[1] The single spent 12 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at No. 25,[2] while reaching No. 15 on Canada's "RPM 100",[3] No. 8 on Canada's CHUM 30 chart,[4] and No. 20 on Billboard's Easy Listening chart.[5][6]
In 1971, Linda Ronstadt was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Female Vocal Performance for her rendition of "Long, Long Time".[7]
Other versions
In 1976, Larry Santos released a cover of the song, which reached No. 38 on Billboard's Easy Listening chart[9][10] and No. 109 on Billboard's "Bubbling Under the Hot 100".[11]
In 1998, Canadian singer/songwriter Alannah Myles covered the song for her compilation album The Very Best Of Alannah Myles.[12]
"This Is the Right Time" is a song recorded by British pop singer Lisa Stansfield for her 1989 album, Affection. It was written by Stansfield, Ian Devaney and Andy Morris, and produced by Coldcut. The song received favorable reviews from music critics.
Release
"This Is the Right Time" was released as the first European single on 31 July 1989. It included "Affection," "Big Thing" (recorded by Stansfield's 80s band Blue Zone) and remixes created by David Dorrell, CJ Mackintosh, Paul Witts and Eddie Gordon. The music video was directed by Big TV!. One year later, on 30 July 1990, "This Is the Right Time" was issued as the third North American single. It included previously unreleased track, "My Apple Heart" and new remixes created by Shep Pettibone and Yvonne Turner. The second music video for the North American market was directed by Jimmy Fletcher. In September 1990, just before Stansfield's European tour, the double A-side single "This Is the Right Time"/"You Can't Deny It" with new US remixes was released in selected European countries. In Japan, "This Is the Right Time" was released as a single on 3 October 1990.
The song was commercially successful reaching number twelve in Canada, number thirteen in the United Kingdom, number seventeen in Germany, number twenty in Austria and number twenty-four in Italy. In the United States, it peaked at number twenty-one on the Billboard Hot 100, number one on the Hot Dance Club Songs and number thirteen on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
In 2003, it was included on Biography: The Greatest Hits. In 2014, the remixes of "This Is the Right Time" were included on the deluxe 2CD + DVD re-release of Affection and on People Hold On ... The Remix Anthology (also on The Collection 1989–2003).
Critical reception
Music & Media described the song as a "Commercial 70s sounding disco single convincingly produced by Coldcut."[1]
The Gavin Report wrote: "The Jazz/Soul flavoring in her brand of Pop gives the music a distinctive sound polished off by the stunning vocal talent of this singer/songwriter. With songs this hot, Lisa and her partners Ian Devaney and Andy Morris should be getting lots of time—make that air time in the years ahead."[2]
Network 40 wrote: "This latest single from her Rolling Stone four-star rated LP maintains Stansfield's stunning soul licks while adding more tempo and house sounds than any of her previously released tracks. A great all-demo track that picks up where "All Around The World" left off, then digs a little deeper."[3]
My fact is The Partridge Family would have been the widowed mother on lead vocals and her children on backing vocals singing with big voices and big hearts in a strong and powerful manner instead of the son Keith Partridge on lead vocals and his mother Shirley Partridge singing backup in a weak and powerless style.
The Partridge Family is an American musical sitcom starring Shirley Jones and featuring David Cassidy. Jones plays a widowed mother, and Cassidy plays the oldest of her five children who embark on a music career. It ran from September 25, 1970, until March 23, 1974, on the ABC network as part of a Friday-night lineup, and had subsequent runs in syndication. The family was loosely based on the real-life musical family the Cowsills, a popular band in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
