Copied from MobyGames: This is a shoot-em-up game with parallax effects. It does have a simulation of inertia in the control of the ship. There are dozens of enemies and two types of shooting: one slow double-shot cannon and one fast single-shot cannon.

Descent review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Descent for PC developed by Parallax Software and published by Interplay .
Descent was developed by Parallax Software and published by Interplay in 1995. This was one of the first games to have 3D models for enemies and the player character. The game gave the player six axises of freedom; essentially, one can move throughout the game as though one were in a weightless environment

In this 3 part tutorial, we’ll take a look at compositing this “Sci-Fi Gas Refinery”. The shot is completely CG and contains no live footage elements. Using photographic layers, 3D renders and effects, we will explore the process of compositing the shot to read as live footage. Techniques include; color correction, blur effects, layer-blending, matting, RPF channel extraction, camera parallax and atmospherics, just to name a few… Although not included in the video tutorial, the source files even contain chromatic aberration and optical distortion, for added realism. The source files also contain all of the rendered 3D layers needed for the composite, which allow you to experiment using your own creativity and imagination… Enjoy.

The Parallax PING Ultrasonic Sensor provides a low-cost, precise and non-contact distance measurement. This sensor is perfect for applications that require you to perform measurements between moving or stationary objects.
Apart from the robotics applications it is also very popular in security systems or as an infrared replacement. The activity status LED and the economic use of 1 I/O pin makes it an efficient and effective product.
The Ping sensor measures distance using sonar; an ultrasonic (well above human hearing range) pulse is transmitted from the unit and distance-to-target is determined by measuring the time required for the echo return.

Quick video of the polymer renderer made by Plagman for the eduke32 port. Showing of some per-pixel lighting, normal mapping parallax mapping and real-time shadows.
This video provides a detailed view of an immature mantid feeding upon a tettigonid cricket. It also shows grooming behavior, and use of parallax by a moving mantid.
These two clips depict a Bush Katydid (Scudderia species) living in Greenville County, South Carolina, USA. In the second clip, this katydid moved up to a higher position in the vegetation to take-off on a flight. Note the side-to-side movements of the katydid prior to take-off. This movement is thought to provide parallax (separation) to support estimation of the distance of the target position by the katydid.
