Unfortunately, Live Loyal Die Royal isn't the first album El Jefe aka F.A. (@jefenawf) struggled to keep under wraps until its intended release date. LLDR will be El Jefe's second studio album and it doesn't disappoint. Allan “F.A.” Eberhardt is one of the latest artists to arrive in the rap industry. An Atlanta native, born in 1987, F.A. began recording songs at the age of thirteen. As an accomplished lyricist, F.A. has mastered a craft only present in the industry’s most elite rappers-the ability to thrill listeners with a witty use of wordplay, while maintaining an authentic representation of his lifestyle. A true product of his environment, F.A. has garnered local attention through various self-made mixtapes. Furthermore, F.A. is no stranger to the stage. After winning local freestyle contests, he has performed throughout Atlanta. As the twenty-seven-year-old rapper continues to hone his God-given talents, one thing is certain: Its only a matter of time before F.A. is recognized as one of the top talents of the industry.

To mark the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in Norway 1913-2013, the Arctic Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra presents “DER SCHÖNE TOD – the beautiful death” – an opera installation in the name of film history and the history of feminism.
Opera is extremely dangerous for women!
Especially if they are on stage. The chance that the female protagonist before curtain fall will be stabbed, commit suicide, be poisoned by violets, caught in an avalanche she sets off because she sings too powerfully, or that she dies of one seemingly poetic disease or other – that chance is imminently great. But why does she die? The lives that women lead onstage would never have been accepted off stage in their time. Therefore the opera woman is sacrificed on the altar of entertainment, she is objectified and becomes ”the other” that we as an audience can pity, but not feel threatened by. “Der schöne Tod” gives the audience an opportunity to meet characters like Carmen and Isolde in a series of death scenes from the romantic opera’s absolute climax.
The golden age of opera conincides with the birth of film. This new form of entertainment, which would soon overtake as the pop-medium of the era, adopted melodrama in plots and music, popularity and star cult from the opera stage. “Der schöne Tod” gains inspiration from the silent opera film – a well hidden chapter in film history – where entire operas were filmed and screened accompanied by live soloists and orchestra.
“The death of a beautiful woman is, unquestionably, the most poetic topic in the world” (Edgar Allan Poe)
“Der schöne Tod – the beautiful death” is part of the program for the 2013 Tromsø International Film Festival.

I produced and edited this profile of Allan Alcorn for the PBS affiliate in the Silicon Valley, KTEH (now branded as KQED+). You probably know that Al is the Father of PONG, but you're going to amazed when you find out the other projects he's had his hand in. Personally, it was a real treat for me to meet Al and spend a few hours with him. Very similar to the structure of Guy Kawasaki's piece: there's an opening scene, a linear story of his life, then a return to the opening scene (which allows me to re-cap the story you were just told). Graphically, it's based on the box of the Atari home version of PONG. Not an outright copy, but it uses the curved line and the bands of orange color. The rest of the graphics were a real egg hunt. Al provided a few pictures from the 1970s, but the rest came from trolling around on Atari tribute sites. I was very sad to cut out an early section about the importance of his Berkeley years. He witnessed the tear gassing of rioters on Telegraph Avenue and considers it to be an important event in his life. It took about thirty seconds for Al to tell the story, and it was only cut because This Is Us had to fit it's running time.

All words are interesting, but names are probably the mot interesting types of words. That is because a name tells a story. It starts with an interesting origin and tells about a person, where he came from, and what his family may have done for a living. This is true in the case of the name Allan Lord.

MARTIN - Family scholar Allan C. Carlson will present “Third Ways: Rebuilding an American Economy Focused on the Family and Community,” March 24, at the University of Tennessee at Martin. The lecture is scheduled at 7 p.m. in Watkins Auditorium of Boling University Center. Third way measures include a return to the natural arrangements of family, church and local community. In contrast to corporate globalization, Carlson will emphasize the importance revitalizing the family farm, the family-held business and the independent shop. Carlson’s lecture will address questions such as: Does conservatism invariably mean defending the actions of the great banks and corporations? Is agrarianism a ridiculous anachronism in the 21st century? Is it conservative to wage perpetual war for perpetual peace? Carlson is president of the Howard Center for Family, Religion & Society. His books include “The Natural Family: A Manifesto” and “The ‘American Way’: Family and Community in the Shaping of the American Identity.” The Intercollegiate Studies Institute and its UT Martin chapter student organization will sponsor the lecture. --- I apologize for the poor sound quality. I tried my best to make everything audible.
