THIS IS AN IMPROVISED SONG, JUST THROWN DURING THE SHOW
Live performance by Willy & The Wonkeye, recorded at the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai by TMS Live China on August 29th 2021. Willy & The Wonkeye is a vocal and guitar duo formed by Scotsman songwriter Chris Blair and Canadian guitarist Kevin Marsh. Much of their music contained themes of redemption and hope, family challenges and modern life struggles. From the countryside of Scotland to the alleys of Shanghai, their music comes from improvisions and spontaneous lyrics. Taking inspiration from artists such as Johnny Cash mixed with more Indie artists, vocalist Chris Blair is a poetic story teller who weaves melodies like a magician. Alongside Blair is guitar wizard Kevin Marsh, and together, they are Willy & the Wonkeye. Some of their songs reveal an exquisite sensitivity that might touch people’s soul, some poetries sculpted into an array of distinct personal facts. Willy & the Wonkeye was formed in 2017 in Shanghai. The pair were introduced through a mutual musician, and not long after their initial meeting, the two sat down in a studio to make some music. Immediately without rehearsal, discussion, or any preconceived ideas, they created four outstanding songs. This is the magic of Willy & the Wonkeye! They do not sit down and work on lyrics or chord progressions. They simply create their songs in real-time. Music available here: https://willyandthewonkeye.bandcamp.com

Trying unusual lyrics with textspeak such as wtf and lmao was the inspiration for this original fun, hilarious and witty country music song that line dancers in the line dancing community are gonna love. Another track from this band uses famous cowboy names of TV, radio stage and film such as USA film stars John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and Audy Murphy. Frontiersman Daniel Boone also gets a mention! Songwriter John Ozoroff says ‘We would never make an appearance on The X-Factor in front of Simon Cowell or Britain’s Got Talent; it’s just not us’ so we do our own thing’. Bass guitar player Gordon Broadley hails from Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa where he appeared on many TV shows there and agrees with John. ‘Definitely a no go!’ says Gordon. The band has been well received by the USA and UK country music scene and fans alike. Their image is a mix of Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Willy Nelson and Joe Walsh! John says, ‘we’re not expecting to reach Gangnam Style by Psy or Katy Perry and her song Roar figures on YouTube but wouldn’t it be great if we got anywhere near it? I would LMAO!’

In 2008, the City of Laredo Environmental Services Department received a $50,000 grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to develop a kid-friendly, educational and informative video that would teach the importance of protecting the Rio Grande, storm water runoff, and the environment. What developed was a 24-minute animated film, “Inspector McCloud’s Stormwater Adventures,” which features Inspector McCloud and Stormy battling the notorious Pollution Cartel, all in an effort to protect the Rio Grande, Laredo’s streets and the city’s water supply. The film introduces us to various characters, heroes Inspector McCloud and Stormy, who are battling the Pollution Cartel - Lucy Litter; Oilslick Willy; Dirty Diaper Dan; Ciggy Butt; and Tommy Treadless Tire – all common pollutants around Laredo that end up in the city’s storm water run-off, ruining city creeks, fields and eventually, the Rio Grande.
