Political music video I made. Here are the lyrics.
An Empty Chair
You say call us master
we won't be your slave
You are not our saviors
We will dig your grave
Sell us out for shiny baubles
entertained most look away
surfing over mass confusion
laughing as you ride your wave
Power is your addiction
we will not be slaves
Money the driving engine
We will dig your graves
All hail the politician
busy making our decisions
I say you best beware
or all will hail an empty chair
You say call us master
we are not your slaves
you are not our saviors
we will dig your grave

Every morning you join a mass exodus on the journey to your destination. As you travel, strangers become nothing more than mere objects that impede your progress. To strangers, you are perceived as nothing more than an objectified hurdle. The peculiar outcome of increasing population size is that we become progressively disconnected from the people around us. They transform from humans to objects.

Capital Spreads. http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/Spread-betting-AIM-stocks.html Are stocks with small market caps riskier to trade? Angus of Capital Spreads http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/ccount/click.php?id=3 comments. It can be more risky because sometimes we see if there is a mass liquidation of positions in small caps. It is not just spread betters or cfd traders trying to get out, it is other share investors. In particular if a stock is illiquid and there is a huge mass sell-off that can really push the market than it should probably. So trading illiquid stocks can be riskier.
In the United States, November 11th is set aside as Veterans' Day, a day to honor those who have served in the armed forces of the United States. Most countries have such a celebration, and well they should. Personally, I honor all veterans, including those who would have once been my enemies.
It was originally called Armistice Day, the anniversary of the end of hostilities in the First World War. And even then, there were honors to those who had served in that war. In in the early 1950's, we had been through one other (and bigger) war and we were in the Korean conflict, and so Armistice Day was re-named to Veterans' Day in honor of all veterans.
All veterans began their lives as ordinary people leading ordinary lives. For some, military service was considered a rite of passage on the way to adulthood. Others were given no choice, they were drafted. Some volunteered. Others chose the way they enterd because the alternative was to be drafted. There are no limits to the possibilities of their motivations. One rather well-known test pilot and fighter ace became an aviation cadet to avoid the duty roster. Another fighter ace who won the Medal of Honor joined to get off of the farm.
Once in uniform, there was yet another occasion for fate and fortune. Some were needed to fill jobs behind desks and in supply warehouses. Others were needed as leaders, and others needed to be led. Some earned more rank and medals than others, but in the final analysis that is not much of a distinction. After all, would the heroic fighter pilot or the decorated hero of the battle have accomplished what they did without support from the supply clerks, the cooks, the medics, and ever-so-many others? The Army once estimated that it takes fifty people in other jobs to support one soldier in the field.
And so, we take this occasion to give thanks for them all!
Blessed Be!

It's Samhain! The wheel of the year has completed another cycle, and so here we are.
We are at the end, and we are at the beginning! This is, after all, the Celtic New Year. We can look back at all that we've accomplished this year, and look forward to what we want to accomplish in the new year just beginning!
For some of us, just having made it through in some semblance of health can be looked upon as an achievment. And there's more, for those who look for it. Each Sabbat can be found in every other Sabbat until the year comes around to Samhain again, and there we find the greatest of Samhain's promises: fulfillment.
And, of course, the veil between the worlds is at its thinnest, and this means that now is the best opportunity to spend some time sharing with those we've known and loved who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. They still love us and care about us, after all.
And for those of us new to such things, this is the perect time to become more aware. There is much hear that we can all make use of throughout the entire year.
And, we have our celebration.
Blessed Be!

References to the "The Star-Spangled Banner" the national anthem of the United States of America. The lyrics come from a poem written in 1814 by Francis Scott Key, a then 35-year-old amateur poet who wrote "Defence of Fort McHenry" after seeing the bombardment of Fort McHenry at Baltimore, Maryland, by Royal Navy ships using Tipu Sultan's design of rockets in Chesapeake Bay during the War of 1812. "And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air" A military tactic developed by Tippu Sultan and his father, Haidar Ali was the use of mass attacks with Rocket artillery brigades on infantry formations. Tippu Sultan wrote a military manual called Fathul Mujahidin in which 200 rocket men were prescribed to each Mysorean "cushoon" (brigade). Mysore had 16 to 24 cushoons of infantry. The areas of town where rockets and fireworks were manufactured were known as Taramandal Pet ("Galaxy Market"). The rocket men were trained to launch their rockets at an angle calculated from the diameter of the cylinder and the distance of the target. In addition, wheeled rocket launchers capable of launching five to ten rockets almost simultaneously were used in war. Rockets could be of various sizes, but usually consisted of a tube of soft hammered iron about 8 inches long and 1.5 to 3 inches diameter, closed at one end and strapped to a shaft of bamboo about 4 ft long. The iron tube acted as a combustion chamber and contained well packed black powder propellant. A rocket carrying about one pound of powder could travel almost 1,000 yards. In contrast, rockets in Europe not being iron cased, could not take large chamber pressures and as a consequence, were not capable of reaching distances anywhere near as great.

It's Mabon, and here we are in Mabontide ready for a celebration! Some call this the last harvest, Lammas being the first. Some call it the second of three with the final being Samhain. Either way, this is Mabon and we do celebrate the harvest at this time.
Not only do we celebrate the harvest, we give thanks. In fact, it can be said that Thanksgiving as people in the USA celebrate it is Mabon transplanted to later in the calendar. And yes, we give thanks. Not just for the good things that are apparent, but also for those that might not be apparent. There are those things we've been too busy to notice. There are some things which we might have come to take for granted. And yes, there probably are some blessings which we simply haven't realized. And this is the time for that.
This is another one of those Sabbats where the emphasis is on fulfillment. Those who feel as if they are in exile from other paths can take comfort in that. The Wheel Of The Year is about a promise and its fulfillment. There's no talk of "God's will" here because the will of The Divine is our fulfillment, happiness and well-being. There is no talk of "God's time" because each and every Sabbat can be marked on the calendar. As for "God's higher plan," this is indeed that "higher plan", and woe be those who stand in the way!
And so come, join in this celebration!
Blessed Be!

English Hardsubbed by the Serendipity team. Zha Mei Le (Cyndi Wang) is illustrious, humble and hardworking. She's well behaved, obedient, caring and kind. Her impressive collection of certificates (including everything from IT expertise to a baking license) is testament to her tireless zest. Yet her faultless exterior hides a bittersweet past. An accidental incident of eavesdropping led her to discover that neither parents, while going through their divorce, wanted custody of her based purely on the fact that she was dumb. As a result she has since worked hard to develop skills, gaining love and approval in the process. Even her boyfriend, Han Yi Feng (Eli Shih) falls in love with her as a result of her mass abilities and generous nature. His mother and sister both are impressed by and greatly admire her from the start of their relationship. Mei Le even helps achieve what she thinks is Yi Feng's dream of opening and running a bakery. There is a slight marring of this idyllic plot with the introduction of Yi Feng's brother, the spoilt, rich and famous Han Yi Lei (Mike He). Mei Le makes a terrible first impression on him but she is determined to change that. All seems well with the couple engaged to be married. However in a cruel twist of fate Yi Feng shows his true colours and is not at all Mei Le thought him to be. When she finds out that their relationship isn't as pure as she thought she is set with the difficult task of rediscovering herself (with some help!) and in the process, learns to trust and fall in love again.

SIGHTS IN SOWETO Soweto[2] is a lower middle class populated urban area of the city of Johannesburg in Gauteng, South Africa, bordering the city's mining belt in the south. Its name is an English syllabic abbreviation for South Western Townships.[3] Formerly a separate municipality, it is now incorporated in the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality, Suburbs of Johannesburg. Soweto came to the world's attention on June 16, 1976 with the Soweto Uprising, when mass protests erupted over the government's policy to enforce education in Afrikaans rather than English. Police opened fire in Orlando West on 10,000[12] students marching from Naledi High School to Orlando Stadium, The rioting continued and 23 people, including two white people, died on the first day in Soweto. The first to be killed was Hector Pieterson, who was 12 years old, when the police began to open fire on the students. Another among the killed was Dr. Melville Edelstein, who had devoted his life to social welfare among blacks. He was stoned to death by the mob and left with a sign around his neck proclaiming "Beware Afrikaaners". The impact of the Soweto protests reverberated through the country and across the world. In their aftermath, economic and cultural sanctions were introduced from abroad. Political activists left the country to train for guerrilla resistance. Soweto and other townships became the stage for violent state repression. Since 1991 this date and the schoolchildren have been commemorated by the International Day of the African Child.
It occurred to me that this would be a good time to have a celebration just for the sake of having a celebration. Just for the sake of seeing all that The Divine has done for us and giving some thanks, even if it isn't one of those marked-on-the-calendar appointed times for such a celebration.
Many years ago, someone who I have come to venerate had some advice for people who were going to The Divine with prayers because of specific needs: "Give thanks in advance", he was known to say. And in at least one place, someone quoted him as saying "When you do that, you have them over the barrel and they have to do something for you, because you're thanking them!" Some would question such a statement, but it works. And, he was able to pull off some amazing stuff in his lifetime.
And, come to think of it, why not! And why not from time to time take a step back and look at the blessings you and I have and give some thanks. And who knows? Like in a retail business where it seems that the happy customer seems to get better service, in life it seems that people who give thanks wind up having more to give thanks about!
And in this, I'll reveal something to you which some of you might find to be the clue to inspire a quest. But, that is for you to see. Just as you'll see here that this ritual and celebration was spontaneous and unrehearsed (as mine normally are). But then again, I'm not the Pope at St Peter's Square at Christmas or Easter. I'm just a priest (and a mortal) who wants to spend some time giving thanks to The Divine for some wonderful things.
Blessed Be!
At "Mass" we enter Heaven with Jesus in the presence of all the Angels and Saints as he offered Himself to the Father on Good Friday over 2,000 years ago.
