On the surface, this 1956 film may seem like an average documentary film, but like most of films from the Moody Institute of Science, there is an ulterior motive. While revealing the complexity of nature, their films would end with Moon saying that this complexity was part of God's plan rather than evolution. Moody Institute of Science films were marketed to churches and also to public schools where today even the mention of the word "God" sparks a conflagration of protests and court cases.

Consider this, you get in your car, turn on the navigation system and then type in the address to your destination. And instead of you driving your car there, the car drives itself. Engineers and students from the nation's top universities alike are competing to develop exactly that, a self-driving car.
The competition is sponsored by the Department of Defense. They are eager to apply the technology on the battlefield, to keep soldiers out of harms way and help save lives. There are also many civilian uses for the technology. Self-driving cars will be programmed not to crash into each other, they will reduce traffic congestion and they will also reduce stops and starts, saving on energy and reducing emissions.
Automotive safety technologies like cruise control, lane departure warning and blind zone alerts already exist, and it won't be long until cars will start to drive themselves.

We are a collective of physicists, biologists, mathematicians, and engineers who have dedicated themselves to the further understanding of our universe through sound science. In 1973, Dr. Hans M Talbot finished the groundbreaking “Talbot Theorom”. Over the past 30 years we have continued to refine this equation and apply it in the private and public sector The Quanta Group Society has helped create more efficient packaging design, helped our armed forces deal with risk assessment, helped our farmers with predictive patterning, helped our banking sector with market forecasting, and even helped fight the war on terror. Our focus is natural disaster and mortality forecasting. Our group’s methodologies are based on SCIENCE, not on BELIEF or FAITH. We require rigorous testing and re-testing as proof that our methodologies and solutions are sound.
Trailer: The valley of the Mississippi is one of the largest bodies of water on the planet. 31 states and 2 Canadian provinces drain into the Mississippi. The Mississippi is not always a friend to man though. Because of the Mississippi River, Americans experienced floods and hardships in 1912, 1913, 1922, and 1927. The flood of 1927 was so bad that the Federal Government passed the Flood Control Act of 1928 to control flooding from the Mississippi. This act sent engineers and surveyors into the field to map and study the valley. Their solution was to implement thousands of miles of levees, dams, channels, and cutoffs to hold and divert water. Most importantly, both sides of the river are now lined with levees. Water will rush in and use its new shorter route. Without man-made changes to the valley, the people suffered hardships. With these alterations to the Mississippi Valley, the people and businesses now prosper. See the full length: www.qualityinformationpublishers.com
I got the idea from watching Blogger Play, a cool little thing Blogger.com came up with. It displays images being uploaded to millions of blogs in real-time. The result, with no editing other than the beginning and ending bumpbers, is random, but astounding. A little royalty-free music, including a midi I whipped up with friends that loosely represents "The Nearness of You," and it was done.
Hope you enjoy it. If so, I may try more.
Here's what the Blogger Engineers had to say about Blogger Play:
"Shortly after Blogger launched photo uploading two years ago, one of our engineers whipped up a web page that would show us the pictures that were being uploaded in real time. The result was fun, often beautiful, but above all, compelling. We couldn’t stop watching...

Formerly known as the E500PTH, the SE530PTH uses Triple TruAcoustic Micro-Speakers to create an expansive soundstage. A dedicated tweeter ensures that highs and mids are incredibly accurate and detailed, while dedicated dual woofers provide balanced, full-bodied bass. The Push-To-Hear Control adjusts levels of external sound for maximum intelligibility. Evolved from personal monitor technology road-tested by pro musicians and fine-tuned by Shure engineers, the SE530PTH earphones deliver unparalleled acoustic accuracy. Triple TruAcoustic MicroSpeakers, one tweeter and dual woofers, deliver an expansive sound stage with full-bodied bass—for an auditory experience rivaled only by live performances.
The engine that runs today's cars and trucks, an internal combustion engine, has more or less stayed the same since it was first invented over a hundred years ago. For decades, engineers have tried to improve the engine, without significantly increasing costs.
The homogeneous charge compression ignition, or HCCI engine does just this. It runs more efficiently and also creates less toxic emissions. It does so by burning the fuel with a flameless combustion, and it's not triggered by a spark plug like the internal combustion engines are.
This is even important for hybrid vehicles, as most of them have an internal combustion engine and many of them are gasoline powered. By swapping out the existing engine with an HCCI one, it can improve fuel efficiency by more than fifteen percent. It will also help reduce dependence on foreign sources of oil. Auto manufactures say they hope to have a production model ready in the near future.
