Dick DeVries Sr. saw a small triangle of land in front of DeVries Grocery & Market in La Grange as something of a pet project years ago. A group of friends volunteered their time Sunday planting a variety of flowers and plants at the triangle to commemorate the memory of the DeVries, who died May 21, 2008, at the age of 73.
