Die Filmemacher treffen drei Männer, die sich entschlossen haben, Europa zu verlassen, um in den Jemen zu ziehen und dort als Muslime zu leben. Die Zahl der Europäer, die zum Islam konvertieren nimmt jährlich zu. Für Familienangehörige und Freunde der Konvertiten ist es oft schwierig, deren Entscheidung zu akztepieren - vor allem, wenn sie sich für einen radikalen Zweig des Isams entschließen. Im Zentrum von Nantes riskiert eine Gruppe von radikalen Islamisten, genannt „Forsanne Alizza“, zu Geld- und Gefängnisstrafen verurteilt zu werden, weil sie das französische Verfassungsgesetzbuch attackiert. Das einzig gültige Gesetz für sie, sind die Gesetze Allahs.

Die aus Graubünden zugewanderte Bergbauernfamilie Caduff lebt mit sechs Kindern in einer Baracke am Zürcher Stadtrand. Eines Tages wird den Verwahrlosten eine für sie bezahlbare Wohnung am noblen Zürichberg angeboten. Balz Caduff, verheiratet mit Vreni, ist ein Kleinbauer aus dem Bündnerland, der in die Stadt abgewandert ist. Dort hat er es zu sechs Kindern, aber finanziell auf keinen grünen Zweig gebracht. Er haust in einer Notbaracke und ist bei den Nachbarn unbeliebt, weil er seinen Ärger gerne im Alkohol ertränkt. Dazu ist er ein Polterer, der mit roher Faust das Glück leider nicht immer im Haus halten kann. Wie die Fee aus dem Märchen erscheint eines Tages der Hausbesitzer Frehner bei den Caduffs und offeriert ihnen für 100 Franken eine Traumwohnung samt Mansarde am Zürichberg. Der Haken an der scheinbar edlen Tat: Die lauten Caduffs sollen Herrn Eidenbenz und seine Frau, ein äußerst anspruchsvolles Mieterpaar, so ärgern, dass sie freiwillig wegziehen. Doch der Plan scheitert
