The entire world is eagerly awaiting the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem. The Bible predicts that it will happen... and it may not be far away. For some, this event will be a wonderful confirmation that God's chosen people are the Jews, and that his holy city is Jerusalem, over there in Israel. But for others, the third temple will be seen as a testimony to how far the human race has strayed from God, and it will also be the start of great suffering for many who claim to follow Jesus Christ. What do you think this Jewish temple represents? Watch this video, before you make up your mind.
June 25, 2005: It is Saturday morning and many high school students are still asleep. But for members of the Northwood High School Philharmonic, the morning started hours ago: At the high school, some are rehearsing in Room 501; the others are in the theatre rehearsing with Stan Steele, Coordinator of Visual and Performing Arts for Irvine Unified. As Coordinator, Mr. Steele is responsible for the fine arts programs at 20 elementary schools, 7 middle schools, and 4 high schools. And yet he has never strayed far away from the classrooms. For the last several weeks, Mr. Steele has been preparing this tour orchestra for its Carnegie Hall appearance. In the video, the rehearsal in progress is of Beethoven's Overture to Goethe's Tradedy, Egmont. // As of this posting (05/31/07), Stan Steele has since relinquished his Coordinator job to phase in retirement, though he is still teaching at UC Irvine and conducting the Concert Orchestra at University High School and the Philharmonic Orchestra at Northwood.
