Taken from their album, "The History Mix Volume 1"
Golden Boy is a 1939 drama romance film based on the Clifford Odets play of the same name. Directed by Rouben Mamoulian, The film stars Barbara Stanwyck, Adolphe Menjou and William Holden.
Production
Golden Boy features William Holden in his film debut, the role that made him a star: a promising violinist who wants to be a boxer. Barbara Stanwyck plays his love interest. The supporting cast includes Lee J. Cobb in an unusual role as the bewhiskered Italian immigrant father of Holden's character.
The producers were initially unhappy with Holden's work and tried to dismiss him, but Stanwyck insisted that he be retained. Thirty-nine years later, when Holden and Stanwyck were joint presenters at the 1978 Academy Awards, he interrupted their reading of a nominee list to publicly thank her for saving his career.
Cast
Barbara Stanwyck as Lorna Moon[1]
Adolphe Menjou as Tom Moody[1]
William Holden as Joe Bonaparte[1]
Lee J. Cobb as Mr. Bonaparte[1]
Joseph Calleia as Eddie Fuseli[1]
Sam Levene as Siggie[1]

Dave is joined by Four-time GRAMMY winning recording engineer and record producer, Jimmy Douglass, in the 29th episode of Pensado’s Place! This week’s ITL features Dave giving you tips on how to use Gate’s in non-traditional ways to get cool results, and Jimmy sticks around to answer Dave’s rapid-fire questions in this week’s Batter’s Box, as well as surprises dave with a “The Senator” compressor as a gift! From jimmydouglass.com… “In the early 1970′s at Atlantic Records studios in New York City, he started his studio career as a part-time tape duplicator while still attending high school. There he learned how to operate the studio’s custom made 16-channel console and observed, was trained by, as well as worked with some of the greatest engineers, producers and record moguls including Tom Dowd, Arif Mardin, Jerry Wexler and Ahmet Ertegun. For his first time behind the faders, he was encouraged by Wexler to engineer the session recording for a demo of a new band. He went on to work with great Atlantic Recording artists such as Aretha Franklin, Hall & Oates, Roberta Flack, Donny Hathaway, Foreigner, Led Zeppelin and AC/DC to name a few. During the 1980′s, Douglass continued to hone his engineering skills while also taking on the role as producer. He engineered and produced established artists including The Rolling Stones, Slave, Odyssey, Roxy Music and Gang of Four. In 1994, he began working with up and coming contemporary R&B/hip hop producer Timbaland and served as his main engineer for more than a decade. They would eventually collaborate on classic projects from artists such as Aaliyah, Missy Elliot, Ginuwine and Jay-Z . Beginning the new millennium, Douglass continued engineering and mixing more Timbaland produced projects including Snoop Dogg, Bjork and Grammy winning albums for Justin Timberlake. Among the artists he also mixed are Rob Thomas, Sean Paul, Kanye West, Ludacris, Al Green, John Legend and Duran Duran.”

The infamous Roxy video, recorded way back in 1986. All credit goes to the person who taped this, it's a priceless document of a magical guitar music era.
one off play by Howard Schuman, writer of the popular "Rock Follies" show. Music by Andy Mackay of Roxy Music, and starring Benedict Taylor, Tim Curry, Nicholas Ball, Caroline Quentin, Patrick Malahide, Al Matthews, Ram John Holder, Tim Potter, and Roger Lloyd Pack.
The story of Channel D, a new local London cable access TV station set up by ex-hippy entrepreneur Bob Surge (Nicholas Ball). having gained his own TV channel he takes a chance on Max Loom (Benedict Taylor) an employee in his video megastore to run the station. Surge's oily personal assistant Walter Fall (Daniel Webb) is against the move, saying it's risky and just a nostalgic buzz for Surge.
But Loom assembles his team of misfits, including the wacko link man Teddy Whazz (Tim Curry), director Fritzie Lang (Caroline Quentin), designer Joseph K (Garry Cooper) and engineer John Stemp (John Bett), and they produce crazed late night television, with (for the times) risque and morally outrageous programming...
Enter Cable Concern, a local watchdog, run by lawyer Steve Rideaux (Patrick Malahide) and Cedric Shade (John Bird) a famous TV producer. They represent the moral majority but they also have some very shady motives of their own.
Can Channel D stay on the air? Who is Eric Dancer? What kind of skeletons are hiding in Cable Concern's closet? All will be revealed in this recently unearthed lost gem of '80s TV.

Nic Adler, Co-Owner and Operator of The Roxy Theater, talks with http://maxflowertv.com/ about the social media revolution, and his involvement in the community. A couple of years ago the Sunset Strip saw a decline in visitors and revenue, but social media websites such as Twitter were the perfect solution. Twitter became an ideal format for promoting shows and has since increased the number of patrons at the various Sunset venues. As a member of the Library Board, and Marketing and Visitors Board, Nic Adler is also very involved with the City Government of West Hollywood. -- Will Mack Distributed by Tubemogul.
