This is an all blue jean rug I made for a dear friend's wedding. Beyond the center I alternate darker and lighter denim, but at five rows from the final, I start fading to black. First I do four blue strips + one black, then three + black, and so forth.
Good example of "sequencing"- the use of colors or patterns in sequence in rug making, and shows off the rug nicely, in spite of how exhausted I was when I shot the video (I'd just been on my mother's roof cleaning out gutters, and was about to get cleaned up to go to the wedding)
During our trip to China, we went to this part of Beijing, unlike the usual rows of tall building commonly associated with the city. It's called the Hutong. My Chinese pengyou, Roger, and I went around this village by means of a rickshaw driven by this Chinese man.
An educational relic, This is the Dairy Industry takes viewers on a stroll through milk and dairy products production in the 1950s. Some amazing statistics are also thrown out: itâs alleged that 30% of the American diet is based on milk products. The rows upon rows of machines and masses of workers who control them demonstrate butter churning on an industrial scale. As an enriching addition to facts and information about the dairy industry, the lifestyle of the middle class and mainstream American is also beautifully represented. This is the Dairy Industry is a wonderful walk through the milk plant and 1950âs culture.
Mowing the lawn is simple, but planting a flower ... think again. Plant flowers side by side in rows of three or more, but be careful, every rose has its thorn in this Match 3 game.
A floaty line at Donna Karan adapts fluid materials and soft volumes. The silk-satin wrap dress is the master piece of the collection, super supple and belted with a ribbon. A certain nonchalance seems to reign over this show in all its softness, dominated by shades ranging from amethyst to topaz to grey. An oversized handmade jumper warms up little chiffon dresses and the coats made with rows of multicoloured fabric look like fur.
"The Holder family in Maryland lays out a quarter acre Victory Garden during World War II. Most of the gardening work is done by Grandpa Holder and his teenage grandchildren Rick and Amy and from the looks of the film, it is backbreaking work. There is the garden of peppers, tomatoes, pole beans, potatoes, asparagus and sweet corn. Then, there is the late garden with beets, squash, late potatoes, late cabbage, kale, collard greens and three rows of turnips.
"A victory garden is like a share in an airplane factory, the film opening tells us. It is also a vitamin factory that will keep Americans strong. The film ends on a patriotic note, 'No Work, No Victory!' Bear that in mind all you Victory Gardeners and Work! For Victory! A no-nonsense, non-idealized look at what it is like to have to really grow your own food."

Never traditional, American designer Anna Sui remains faithful to her luxury hippy-chic style. A busy silhouette is emphasised by the use of psychedelic prints. Folklore, however, is never far away: fringed boots and rows of pearls add a bit of frivolity to the collection. Short frilly skirts are teamed with matching blouses. Velvet adds elegance to officer’s jackets and very ‘peace and love’ babydoll dresses…

Quality: This is a nice video. This was shot mostly from the left edge of the stage. The taper does shoot from several different positions throughout the video, eventually ending up on the right side of the stage. The stage lights aren't very bright, so it's a little dark sometimes. There are no obstructions until the taper starts moving to the back of the crowd, and then over to the right, a few rows back. Then there are heads in the way. There are a few cuts in the video. The sound is thin, but okay. There are nice closeups.
I asked my mother to tell the story behind some of the rugs she made. I shot this in D1 quality but at a lower frame rate.
One is a rug she made from her mother's old coats.
Another is a rug she made of her old dresses
A third is one she made of her old bathrobes (I remember going shopping with my father to buy her those!)
She also discusses a bit of the technique of doing color block rows.

This is the largest rug I've made in a decade, and the most beautiful. The key clothing in this rug were clothes my wife and I wore 12 to 13 years ago, when we were wooing and wed.
There are three phases to it, the solid colors in the center, the variegated rows outside it, and the solid rows at the finish. Through out, you'll notice certain colors and sequences either repeating or contrasted, so the whole rug is aesthetically linked together by- if you will- visual fugue.
I hope to get some good stills of it, but since I've long promised to show off the finished rug, I decided to go ahead and post this now.
Once my wife is out of the hospital, we'll do a video detailing which garments are where, to show how wonderful this craft is at preserving memories and commemorating life events.
Joan Cheever talking during the 2006 Anti-Death Penalty Alternative Spring Break:
www.alternativespringbreak.org
What would happen if the United States abolished the death penalty and emptied its Death Rows? If the killers were released from prison? What would they do with their second chance to live? Would they kill again?
Back From The Dead is the story of 589 former death row inmates who, through a lottery of fate, were given a second chance at life in 1972 when the death penalty was abolished; it returned to the United States four years later. In Back from the Dead, Cheever describes her own journey and reveals these tales of second chances: of tragedy and failure, racism and injustice, and redemption and rehabilitation.

Ji-soo is a woman in her early 20’s who's on her way home late night.
It's the street of new planned city that is surrounded by rows of apartment buildings everywhere. Ji-Soo is a woman in her early 20s who's on her way home late night. Even though it's rare to find any traffic at this time of the night, it's especially lacking in any form of transportation passing by. As she is about to arrive at the crossing by the hill, she hears a screeching sound of a car stopping suddenly followed by a thumping sound, indicating an obvious traffic accident. When panicking Ji-Soo arrives at the scene of accident, the car is already gone and there lies a kid and a woman about the same age as she is, both covered in blood.
UP - Citroën wants to set new standards in the class of mini vans with the all-new C4-Picasso. The C4 offers seven seats. Thanks to its airy design and its dimensions (length 4.59 m, width 1.83 m and height 1.66 m) seven passengers should have ample space in the three rows of seats.
