Earlier this year I was kinda curious about how a PATD song would sound like as a DDLC soundtrack, soooo this happens.
Well actually I blame the "the ink flows down into a dark puddle" part, reminding me of "the ink is running toward the page" in Northern Downpour. That gave me the idea for this mash-up cover.
This time I had to repeatedly listen to both songs WHILE in the process of making this cover, trying to get the notes right. It's still harder to control my voice & breathing though, plus I just recovered from a cold so that explains the slight phlegminess. The video accidentally got cut off in the first part, cuz halfway through drawing the iPad ran out of battery, & Procreate failed to save everything from the beginning.

Been a while since I did a timelapse, cuz I’ve only recently got my hands on an Android tablet. Usually I use drawing time lapses for song covers, but lemme just try doing what other youtubers do for once. Back then I borrowed the office iPad & it had Procreate in it, which allows timelapses but Procreate isn’t available on android so I used Ibis Paint.
A little sidenote regarding the end of Greed: I don't mean to unsupport other fellow artists, it's great to buy their merch, especially when they're doing it for a cause or fundraiser. But sometimes we gotta understand the situation, if you're buying internationally & the shipping costs more than the actual product itself, dupes are fine. Else, go support your favorite musicians, artists & content creators by all means.
Second cover of the year, another favorite song since college that I've been binge-listening in the office (and one I know how to play on the piano). Replicating the instrumental was kinda difficult this time, I had to listen even deeper to get the drum beats right.
Artwork is done in Procreate, another app with a timelapse feature. It's neater than Sketchbook Pro, I gotta say. I don't know why I drew this to go with the song, I couldn't really find the perfect theme to draw to depict contagiousness or attachment but I've got a thing for eating brains and sucking the life out of it. And the girl turned out kinda like Noodle from Gorillaz too, my friend was the first to point that out.
the dream, the dream, the dream, keep dreaming
see, the dream, its just a dream to some
for others its a miracle
the conspiracy is, that mere freedom is,
just a process of legal minds
and not the soul, of every human being
every being sees, the pain in another
whether brother or mother
even aliens can detect
respect, the effects, of a lack of connect
in which we all suffer
so why, based on a few, unfortunate minds
will proportionate time, not be granted
receiving faces redder like santa
as you listen to banter
as i write my rhyme i think back
to the days we make raps
to innovate and not to celebrate as we procreate...
the government;s arrow, strokes with hate
as we complicate
the dream, the dream, and keep dreaming
i dream, outside of my sleep
as i wish that those i care about didnt have to suffer
you know, i dwelled in a basement, ive been crushed by a small tumor
but im able to embrace the humor
of life, cuz i dream, and i dream, i dream
i feel your pain, i give my blessings
see, in college we learn ...
Experimental pilot testing a new rocket powered craft (actually a Convair F-102 interceptor) manages to fly into the future and land at the now deserted airbase he left. He ends up in a city with people who are suspicious he is a spy and who want to keep him to procreate with the rulers daughter because the majority of the inhabitants are sterile. He manages to escape and return to his own time but ages dramatically.
Stanley Tweedle isn't interested in exploring, but Xev convinces him to do so, saying that she'll have sex with him if she doesn't find somebody to have sex with on the planet first. Stan agrees, and when they venture to the planet they find an order of monks who profess to have no idea what a woman is. It is a repressive and stagnant place, where the monks copy writings out of ancient books without knowing how to read, so that they will not be corrupted by dangerous ideas. Kai asks their leader, Brother Randor, how they procreate without women, but Brother Randor claims ignorance of such matters. Meanwhile, Xev is stirring up trouble by making sexual overtures to various monks.
In 2027, in a chaotic world in which man can no longer procreate, a former activist agrees to help transport a miraculously pregnant woman to a sanctuary at sea where her child's birth may help scientists save the future of mankind.
